MAHILA SAMRIDDHI YOJANA (MSY)

The Mahila Samriddhi Yojana (MSY) is an empowering initiative managed and supported by the National Backward Classes Finance & Development Mission (NBCFDM), designed specifically to uplift and promote the socio-economic development of women from backward classes. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance and support to women, enabling them to become self-reliant, independent, and active participants in economic activities.
Under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, women belonging to backward communities are given access to micro-credit facilities, allowing them to start or expand small businesses, enhance their skills, and improve their livelihood. The financial support provided under the scheme can be utilized for various entrepreneurial ventures, such as agricultural activities, small-scale industries, retail businesses, and handicrafts. By offering loans at low interest rates, the scheme ensures that women can manage their finances without facing excessive financial burden.
In addition to financial assistance, the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana focuses on the capacity-building of women through training programs. These programs provide essential skills in business management, financial literacy, and other key areas that enable women to run their enterprises successfully. The scheme also emphasizes the importance of community-based support systems, with women often being encouraged to form Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to share resources, knowledge, and best practices.
The NBCFDM’s Mahila Samriddhi Yojana plays a pivotal role in the economic empowerment of women from marginalized communities, fostering entrepreneurship, and contributing to gender equality. By encouraging women to take charge of their financial futures, the scheme helps reduce poverty, improves the standard of living, and strengthens the overall social fabric of backward classes. Through MSY, the NBCFDM strives to create a more inclusive and equitable society, where women are key contributors to economic growth and development.
